Amenti Teen Retreat
a Rite of Passage
22-29 November 2024
LUXOR - EGYPT
(This programme runs alongside the Amenti Rebirth Retreat for moms to join simultaneously to their teens)
The modern world seems to demand that teenagers decide what they want to do with
their life when they've barely experienced it.
In a fast paced ever-changing world, perhaps a more helpful thing for them to uncover is...

"Who are you, really?"
The Amenti Teen Retreat
is a unique offering, utilising a combination of creative and wellness tools to co-create a
'Coming of Age' Ritual Performance
which will be shared with the parents at the end of the week.
This journey will help each beautiful soul to
gain a deeper understanding and connection with themselves, each other and nature.
With a combination of creativity and wellness practices, each participant will be equipped
with new skills to help navigate their life and
maintain connection with their own innate wisdom.

Please note that The Amenti Teen Retreat - A Rite of Passage
runs alongside the Amenti Rebirth Retreat for women (find out more about that here)
with the intention to give mothers with teens the opportunity to join a truly unique experience
for both themselves as their teens.

The mothers and teens will enjoy a private villa accommodation at walking distance from the teen's hub.
Each morning a private driver will pick the mothers up to join the women's programme
and each evening they will be brought back to their accommodation.
The teens will be fully looked after by an experience all female team and provided for in the times of the running programme of the mothers.
The Unfolding
This programme will take place in a safe, nourishing environment, in a gorgeous Nubian style Dome house, with Tjoni, an experienced teen creative wellness coach.

Aside from a one day Temple or site excursion, the days onsite will look like this:
MORNING 10.30 - 12.30
• Opening sharing circle, for all to have a space to be fully seen and heard if they choose.
• Practice in meditation, yoga or other mindfulness tools.
• Warm up game.
• Tuition in creative skills such as writing, storytelling, physical theatre, rapping, singing, body percussion, creative movement, and possibly some craft if desired

LUNCH 12.30 - 1.30
One hour break onsite

AFTERNOON 1.30 - 3.30
• Time for self reflection and journaling.
• Working on individual and group creative projects, with support from Tjoni, such as stories, songs and handicrafts, leading to a Performance Piece.
• Co-create the schedule for the following day with participants.
• Closing circle

The program includes one overnight experience in the desert of ancient Thebes - modern day Luxor.
See below for more info..
The Benefits
• Empower teens to grow into adults that are tuned into their highest purpose, so they can navigate life based on their core values, strengths and passions.

• Cultivate a culture away from competition and into collaboration and teamwork.
• Foster effective communication and leadership skills.
• Learn a variety of creative and wellness practices they can continue to use in daily life.
• Connect with aspects of Egyptian history in a meaningful way.
• And most importantly, have fun, boost confidence and create new friendships!

The Outcome
We will combine these skills with inspiration from ancient initiations to create a Ritualistic Performing Arts piece.
This will be shared with the parents on the last day. As a modern day Rite of Passage, we will deeply honour each student as they vision and embody who they are becoming as they step towards adulthood.
The creation of a contemporary ritual performce piece, using 3 circle ritual as the foundation. A coming of age initiation created in collaboration with participants, to vision and embody who they would like to be as they step towards adulthood.
Combining inspiration from ancient initiation rites of passage, with modern creative tools to create something timeless but relatable.
The desert camping experience
Another truly unique experience for the teenagers on this programme is a one day and night desert experience, where they will camp under a million stars in the foothills of the Ancient Thebes mountains...
just behind the Valley of the King and Queens in Luxor!
This is a unique feature of both the Teens as the Womens Retreat.
Women and Teens will be in separate valleys.
In the women's programme this is the mini vision quest night.

For the teens this is an opportunity to connect with the land beneath their feet and experience the magnificence of the environment whilst stumbling across ancient pottery and prehistoric stone tools!

A traditional meal will be prepared and the teens will be guided to prepare the camp fire!
A truly unique and unforgettable experience!

During the desert camping experience Tjoni, our retreat guide, and Vickie from the Teen Guardians will be present, as well as a highly experienced and trustworthy team of local guides who know the area like the back of their hands, will be present.
